News from Shalstone

HARVEST SUPPER AND AUCTION  - Friday 6th September. What a fantastic evening we all had. Two people were the stars of the show. First of all Elspeth. Elspeth, as usual, planned the evening and, as Geoffrey said, got her team in place cooking all the delicious food. So a big thank you to all the cooks, and the people who helped clear up on Sunday.

Also a huge thank you to everybody who donated food and promises. We have a very talented artist living in Shalstone who gave four of her lovely paintings to be sold. Which brings me to a very important person.

Andrew Morgan. Andrew does an amazing job as an auctioneer. He is so persuasive and funny. We were not allowed to go home until he had raised more than £900. So together with the ticket money an amazing £1,368 was raised for church funds.

So a big thank you to everybody who came, joined in the fun and were so generous.

SAD NEWS - Sylvia Ostojic who has lived for more than forty years at The Nook, Shalstone has died. Sylvia died on the 6th September. She will be remembered as a kind and generous lady.

A NEW BABY - Many congratulations to Emily and Paul Brinklow on the birth of their daughter Lily who was born on 4th September.

CHURCH CLEANING FOR OCTOBER: Amanda and Patricia.
