Westbury Parish News August 21
Dear Village Residents,
Here is the Westbury Village Link news page for August.
Westbury Parish Council
Meetings
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 8th September at Westbury Village Hall at 8.00 pm. Members of the public are very welcome to attend but please register with the clerk beforehand. The agenda will be published the week before the meeting at: https://westburyvillage.co.uk/westbury-parish-council-agendas-and-minutes/
Councillor vacancy
Westbury Parish Council still has one vacancy. Ideally, we’d like to try and find someone in the village who would be responsible for planning; we would provide full training and support in this role. Our six current councillors James, Graeme, Vicky, Cath, Katy and Richard are a great bunch who enjoy having a say on what goes on in our lovely little village. If you would like to join the team and get involved, please email the clerk Cathy Knott on westburyclerk@aol.com
Children’s summer activities
Westbury Parish Hall Charity is kindly funding a few children’s activities over the summer holidays and Lindsay Webster and Westbury Parish Council have organised a climbing wall and caving experience during August. Another less physical activity will be coming soon 😊 so watch this space.
For more information or to book your place, please see the homepage of our website at: https://westburyvillage.co.uk/
Speed Watch
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this was put on hold but it has now been reinstated and we are able to commence with our project. Councillor Cath Young is taking the lead with traffic calming in Westbury and has taken over Speed Watch in the village. If you are not already on our list of volunteers but would like to get involved, please contact Cath at: cath.young15@gmail.com
Dog fouling
We urge all dog owners to make sure they always pick up their pet’s mess and thank the responsible owners for helping to keep Westbury clean.
HS2
Footpath WBB/17 is closed (with a deviation in place) and a new footpath will cross the line of route when HS2 work is complete in the area – a map showing a diversion is available to view at: (https://westburyvillage.co.uk/full-steam-ahead-on-hs2/)
Fix my street
Anyone can use this online tool to report a problem on a street/road in Buckinghamshire (including fly tipping) or to track the progress of reported issues at: https://www.fixmystreet.buckscc.gov.uk/

Please note:
Samantha has now finished as editor of the Link, so it won’t be circulated until a new editor is appointed; it is hoped it will be back as a hard copy soon. In the meantime, the parish council will continue to send information out monthly.
